Is It A Good Time ESB Networks Campaign

This is a project to help empower all electricity customers, regardless of their electricity supplier, to take control of their home's electricity usage by providing them with relevant and timely information. Over 18,000 electricity customers all over the country signed up and took more than 40,000 actions to help support Ireland's security of supply and help reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.

After a customer has signed up to the programme via their ESB Networks Online Account, they will begin to receive regular email and text messages providing them with simple tips and information on how they can take control of their home's electricity consumption. From time-to-time, customers will be asked to take part in energy events in which they will be asked to take a recommended action during certain times and can earn rewards for taking part.

Energy events come as two different types of events:

  • Peak Events: times when ESB Networks may ask you to take control to help support Ireland's security of supply.

  • Flexibility events: times when there is surplus renewable energy to take advantage of, or also times when there is less renewable energy available.

Once you are signed up, ESB Networks will occasionally contact you by email or SMS to see if you can take action during Energy Events. These events occur at times when there is adequate available renewable energy you can take advantage of, or at times when there is less renewable energy available. If you can take the suggested action when asked, if your MPRN is linked to your ESB Networks Online Account and you complete a short survey after the event, you will be eligible for a reward in the form of a digital eGift Card.
